Secretary-General of the Humanitarian Council meets with representatives of civil society organizations.
The Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Abdu Mohsen Tawoos met today with a number of representatives of local civil society organizations working in the field of relief and displaced issues.
In the meeting, Tawoos appreciated the efforts of civil society organizations in the humanitarian aspect since the beginning of the aggression against Yemen . he also stressed the importance of meeting with representatives of civil society organizations related to humanitarian and relief issues to study their situation and propose to develop their tasks and improve their performance.
He pointed to the role of civil society organizations through responsible action that takes the national interest over any other interest, achieves the objectives of humanitarian.
In turn, representatives of civil organizations pointed out the need to coordinate with the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the commitment of the work regulation the rules of action in accordance with the mechanisms and standards set by the Supreme Council as the monitoring body for the work of organizations in general, including local organizations.
They stressed that civil society organizations will work under the supervision and coordination of government efforts to implement humanitarian and relief activities and projects to alleviate the suffering of citizens and displaced persons.
The meeting came out with many opinions and proposals that emphasized importance of activating the role of civil society organizations during the current phase in the humanitarian and relief aspects.
