Al-Hamli meets with the Regional Director of IFAD.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, met today with the Regional Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Yemen and Iraq, Tawfiq Al-Ziri, who is currently visiting Sana’a.
The meeting discussed the mechanism for enhancing the level of cooperation between Yemen and the IFAD Fund and the possibility of reopening the organization’s office in Sana’a, enhancing its role in contributing to alleviating human suffering.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council, in the meeting, confirmed the importance of IFAD restoring its activity in implementing agricultural projects and activities funded as grants to the Yemeni people, which have been suspended and have not been completed since the start of the aggression in the year 2015 AD.
Al-Hamli called for reopening the International Fund’s office in Sana’a and working to re-accredit aid to Yemen in a way that enhances development efforts, supports food security activities, and contributes to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result of the aggression and siege.
The meeting was attended by the Acting Director of the Economic Opportunities Fund, Ashraf Al-Jilani, and a number of directors of SCMCHA, FAO, and IFAD in Yemen.
