Secretary-General of Council meets with Director of the EU ICAO Office.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Abdulmuhsin Tawoos, met today with the director of the European Union’s Office of Civil Protection and Humanitarian Assistance Operations, Aldo Boldini.
The meeting, which was attended by the head of International Cooperation department, Manaa Al Asal, and the Head of the One Window Department, Hamza Al-Mukhtar, discussed the cooperation, coordination and effective partnership that will ensure the continuation of humanitarian work in order to achieve its common objectives with the Council and working organizations in the domain of relief and humanitarian.
Issues relating to mechanisms for cooperation and administrative coordination were also discussed in the regulatory, supervisory and operational aspects.
The Secretary General of the Supreme Council stressed ensuring to provide all possible facilities to working orginzation in the field of humanitarian work in a manner that does not break the national laws and the exceptional situation in Yemen as a result of the aggression.
He pointed out that the Council was established to achieve this purpose in addition to bridging the gap and resolving problems related to coordination between the relevant entities on the one hand and organizations working in the humanitarian field on the other.
Tawoos also stressed that the authorities in Sana’a represented by the Supreme Council will make all efforts to improve the humanitarian work and to protect and secure the humanitarian workers, in addition to providing the necessary facilities and taking the constructive discussions seriously that serve the course of action and put the treatments and suggestions in. In contrast, there is no room for dealing with misleading claims that are not based on any evidence and do not exist on reality.
For his part, the Director of the Echo Office pointed out the keenness of the European Union represented by its humanitarian organizations to support the humanitarian aspect in Yemen, praising the efforts of the Supreme Council in coordinating and providing facilities to humanitarian organizations and stressing the importance of constructive discussion through which positive results can be achieved that guarantee Continuity of humanitarian work and achieving its common objectives on all humanitarian and relief actors in Yemen.
The Director of the ICAO office noted that the European Union represented by its humanitarian organizations was keen to support the humanitarian aspect of Yemen.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Supreme Council of coordinating and providing facilities to humanitarian organizations. He also stressed the importance of constructive discussion through which positive results could be achieved that would ensure the continuity of humanitarian action and the achievement of its common objectives of all parties of humanitarian and relief field in Yemen.
