Al-Hamli meets with representatives and officials of UN, international and local organizations in Ibb Governorate
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, met today with representatives, officials and employees of UN, international and local organizations in Ibb, Taiz and Al-Dhalea governorates.
The meeting focused on discussing topics related to humanitarian work in accordance with Yemeni laws through SCMCHA, which is the highest administrative authority responsible for managing and coordinating humanitarian affairs and international cooperation in Yemen, and the official body for implementing all projects and activities by organizations.
The Secretary-General of SCMCHA confirmed the importance of awareness and a sense of responsibility towards the country, from all employees of organizations, and not yielding to material temptations and sacrificing the security and safety of the country.
He warned organizations against carrying out political and sabotage actions, through projects or employees, to implement an external agenda under the umbrella of humanitarian work.
Al-Hamli highlighted the importance of organizations improving their work, and being well aware that they are under SCMCHA’s evaluation.
He stressed that all organizations must fully coordinate with SCMCHA in implementing projects and activities, warning against implementing any project or activity or using evaluation forms and surveys without prior approval and permission from SCMCHA.
Al-Hamli explained that SCMCHA worked to limit the use of evaluation forms, stop many surveys and activities that are not related to humanitarian work, and close these organizations. Despite this, there are still organizations working to issue illegal forms and carry out surveys without permits from the Supreme Council and in devious ways.
He emphsized the keenness of the leadership and SCMCHA to stabilize humanitarian work, taking into account the aspect related to the security, stability, values, culture and identity of the Yemeni people, pointing out that SCMCHA rejects any destructive activities that affect the identity and culture of the Yemeni people, and the security and sovereignty of the country.
The meeting was attended by the director of SCMCHA branch in Ibb Governorate, Abdul Rahman Al-Arjali, the director of Monitoring and Evaluation of SCMCHA, Muhammad Al-Razza, the director of international organizations of SCMCHA, Turki Jamil, and the director of local organizations, Abdul Salam Al-Nawab.
Last Thursday, in Sanaa, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council met with the Acting Humanitarian Coordinator – UNICEF Representative in Yemen, Peter Hawkins, and representatives of international organizations in Yemen.
Everyone stressed the continuation of humanitarian work, taking into account the aspect related to the values, culture and identity of the Yemeni people, and the security and sovereignty of the country, through the single window of SCMCHA.
