Sana’a.. Al-Hamli meets representatives of international organizations in Yemen.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, discussed today with representatives of international organizations in Yemen, issues related to humanitarian work.
The meeting, which was attended by the Head of the Planning and Evaluation Department, Ali Al-Kahlani, and the Director of the OCHA Office in Yemen, Marcus Werne, confirmed SCMCHA’s keenness to provide and facilitate the work of organizations, to deliver humanitarian aid to beneficiaries.
Al-Hamli,in the meeting, reviewed the tasks and role of SCMCHA as a single window for dealing with UN, international and local organizations, in implementing humanitarian work.
He highlighted the importance for organizations to adhere to national laws, noting the keenness of the leadership and SCMCHA on the stability of humanitarian work, taking into account what is related to the security, stability, values, culture and identity of the Yemeni people.
The Secretary-General of SCMCHA stressed the importance of coordinating with SCMCHA in humanitarian work, confirming the existence of organizations that implement activities away from the Council, which raises doubts about those organizations evading their lack of coordination with the SCMCHA, which is the single window for humanitarian work.
Al Hamli warned against carrying out political and subversive acts, through projects or employees implementing an external agenda under the umbrella of humanitarian work, stressing the importance of organizations sensing responsibility towards Yemen, by implementing activities and projects that meet the needs of the Yemeni people.
Al-Hamli explained that the circulars issued by SCMCHA come within the framework of implementing the basic agreements signed with international organizations, including conditions and obligations.
For their part, the participants in the meeting apprectiated the interest and cooperation of SCMCHA,stressing the work to implement what was proposed by the Secretary-General of SCMCHA to achieve humanitarian work.
