Tawoos discusses humanitarian work in Hodeidah with Red Cross mission.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation met today with The Deputy Head of the ICRC Delegation Freya Radi.
The meeting, which was attended by the head of the International Cooperation Department, Manaa al-Asal, and the head of the one-window department Hamza al-Mukhtar, discussed the aspects of the problems that are facing the mission ,and the observations that shall be obliged during the humanitarian work as well as the solutions of these problems.
The meeting touched on the difficulties that faced the humanitarian track due to the sensitivity of the situation in Hodeidah . The meeting also discussed the joint coordination mechanism to ensure that the work is facilitated in accordance with the data of humanitarian work and the criteria to be followed by the organizations under the exceptional situation that the country is going through as a result of the aggression.
The Secretary-General of the Council stressed the need to work according to the humanitarian standard, away from any considerations. He explained that Yemen is going through exceptional circumstances that require it to work in accordance with the rules of humanitarian work and the security and safety of workers in this field.
He stressed the importance of positive dealing with the suffering of the children of Al-Darhimi and the humanitarian crisis there. He stressed the mission’s role and the importance of its commitment to its duty to deliver humanitarian assistance, transport the wounded and take into account the humanitarian situation there.
He indicted the necessity to strengthen the coordination between the Council and the Mission to facilitate the work in various areas.
Freya Dare also praised the cooperation of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs and its role in facilitating the work of the organizations. The Red Cross is concerned with contributing to alleviating the humanitarian crisis.
She also expressed her gratitude for the Council’s interaction with the problems that faced the Red Cross and work to find appropriate solutions and remedies.
