Discussion of red cross activities in Hodeidah governorate.
The Deputy Director of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for The Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation in Hodeidah, Abdullah Mahmoud Al-Ahdal, discussed today with the head of the ICRC delegation in the province Celine Degen the activities of the Red Cross in Hodeidah governorate.
The meeting reviewed the most important activities carried out by the mission and the ways to strengthen it to ensure the provision of high quality services in the next phase.
In the meeting, which was attended by assistant head of mission Mohammed Qassim al-Wasabi, Al-Ahdal pointed out that the health situation in the province has deteriorated due to the spread of epidemics.
He pointed out the importance of intensifying and doubling the support of medical centers, units and rural hospitals under the continuing aggression targeting populated areas and villages in the province.
He pointed out the importance completing activities by mission which have been under implementation since last year.
He pointed out the keenness of the council branch in Hodeidah to facilitate all activities of the mission in accordance with the service of the community.
In her turn, Degen explained that the committee carried out three projects to reform the central prison in al-Huq district and rehabilitation of the heal center in of al-Gatter of al-Marawa district , as well as the rehabilitation of the rural hospital in the Directorate of Al-Hajilla.
she pointed out the mission’s intention to implement a number of humanitarian projects this year that will serve the community.
She appreciated the council’s efforts in the province to overcome all difficulties in the mission’s activities.
