Tawoos meets humanitarian coordinator in Yemen.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdul Mohsen Tawoos met today with the United Nations Resident Representative for Humanitarian Affairs to Yemen, Liz Grandi.
The meeting in the presence of the head of the International Cooperation Departments, Manaa al Asel, head of One Window department, Hamza al-Mukhtar, Acting Planning Department Motaher Zeid, and representatives of a number of organizations discussed ways to support and promote the positive steps reached over the past few days in the humanitarian process.
In the meeting, Tawoos affirmed the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs’ keenness to provide facilities to humanitarian organizations working in Yemen.
He pointed out the importance of coordination to find ways of agreement that will ensure the strengthening of the active partnership in the field of humanitarian work in order to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people affected by the aggression and the blockade.
He also stressed the supreme council’s keenness and awareness of the importance of completing surveys related to the assessment of needs on the basis of which the level of actual need can be determined.
In turn, Grande also praised the efforts made and constructive discussion that has taken place over the past few days. She stressed the need to continue meetings and work to solve the problems and put the treatments first to ensure that the difficulties and challenges are overcome.
She stressed the importance of completing the surveys to achieve the objective of evaluation and determine the need to make funding of donors correspond with the actual need that achieves the objective of providing support and assistance to the needy and those most in need.
