A meeting discusses plan need to confront COVID 19 in Sana’a.
Today’s meeting, chaired by the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for The Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, discussed the need plan presented by the Ministry of Health and the Council and the role of organizations in meeting the need in an emergency.
The meeting, in the presence of The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Dr. Mohammed al-Mansour, head of the Department of International Cooperation, Manaa al-Asal, head of the Single-window sector Hamza al-Mukhtar, acting department of planning, Mutahar Zeid, and representatives of international organizations working in the Yemeni health, relief and humanitarian field, was reviewed ways to confront Coronavirus and prevented from entering Yemen.
In the meeting, Tawoos pointed out that a committee of the council, the Ministry of Health and related authorities were formed to implement precautionary measures and procedures to deal with the virus.
He pointed out that Yemen is suffering from the worst humanitarian disaster due to the aggression and the blockade, which calls for unit efforts by the relevant authorities and international organizations to put in place more precautionary measures and provide the necessary supplies, especially for ports and quarantine areas.
He stressed the importance of speeding up the implementation of response plans to protect Yemeni society from the dangers of the virus. He explained that the quarantine centers at the ports still lack adequate medical services and the provision of the necessary supplies in light of the shortcomings of international organizations in this aspect.
The Secretary-General of SCMCHA called on the organizations concerned to take the necessary measures to support Yemen’s efforts and precautionary measures to confront Corona.
in turn, the undersecretary of theHealth ministry pointed out that everyone is responsible to play their role in implementing precautionary measures and procedures to confront the coronavirus and direct activities in this aspect.
He said it is necessary to work within an integrated package to provide needs, raise awareness, educate and abide by the government’s actions, particularly with regard to quarantine.
For their part, the organizations stressed the keenness to coordinate to confront Corona, prevent their entry into Yemen and protect the Yemeni people from their catastrophic dangers.
