A meeting in Sana’a today, which included the head of the Department of International Cooperation, Manaa al-Asal, and the undersecretary of the Rehabilitation and Reform Department of the Ministry of Interior, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Hussein al-Abali, the International Red Cross Mission and the United Nations Development Programme, discussed the necessary requirements for the prevention of the coronavirus among prisoners in correctional institutions in the Sana’a and provinces.
The meeting, in the presence of the Chairman of the Committee of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs to follow up on the needs of confronting the Corona virus Jaber al-Razhi, and the director of planning and projects in the department, Colonel Mohammed Atef Allah, stressed the importance of meeting the requirements and providing assistance in accordance with the needs, especially under the emergency circumstances and facing the Corona pandemic.
The head of the International Cooperation Department,Manaa al Asel, pointed out the importance of the role of the organizations in during the aggression on Yemen.
He said the council is ready to provide facilities to organizations and to continue of providing assistance to the respond COVID19.
in turn , the undersecretary of the Rehabilitation and Reform Department pointed out that the department is continuing to implement the required procedures in accordance with the available possibilities.
He stressed that International Red Cross, UNDP and humanitarian organizations. should be active to respond to the virus.
Robert Zimmerman, Director of Legal Affairs of the International Cross, Andmohamed Al-Nazli, and representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) said they are ready to exert efforts to meet the requirements that had been lifted.
The meeting was attended by Director of International Cooperation Turki Jamil and Director of International Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Yahya Al-Ansari.
