Tawoos inspects flood damage in Sinhan district.

 

The Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Abdul Mohsen Tawoos inspected today the the damage to a number of houses, roads and streets of the Salaman area of Kalfan, Sanhan district, due to the torrential rains.

The Secretary General of the Council, along with the director general of the supreme Council branch in Sana’a province, Abdul Moin al-Sharif, and the director of the Sinhan district, Bani Bahlul Mujahid Awad, listened to citizens explaining the damage to homes and shops caused by heavy rains and torrential rains during the past two days.

They were briefed on the progress of the ongoing work of suctioning water, removing debris and accumulated dust, opening drainage channels and other measures taken to alleviate the suffering in the Al-Qalafan area.

In his visit, Tawoos drew attention to the tragic situation and the catastrophic damage suffered by citizens in the region, calling on the Ministry of Works to go down and start their work to provide what can be done to help citizens mitigate the damage if it rains again.

He noted that the Council is trying hard to provide emergency assistance to alleviate the suffering of citizens and support them in the circumstances they have been subjected to.

He stressed the importance of concerted efforts and strengthening the level of coordination with the relevant authorities to deal with and repair the damage caused by floods in the streets, roads and areas of the district of the secretariat of the capital possible and available to mitigate the damage and protect citizens and their property.
