SCMCHA calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities in protecting prisoners in Marib prisons.
The Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation called on the international community to assume its responsibility for protecting prisoners in the prisons of mercenaries of aggression in Marib.
In a statement today, the Council condemned the torture and human rights violations of prisoners under the cover of the Saudi-American Coalition of Aggression.
The counil considered the continuation of the mercenaries of aggression in Marib in the torture of captives ,which the latest one was the torture of prisoner Abdullah Ahassan Naji al-Jaridi of Sana’a until he died under the silence of the United Nations and its organizations working in Yemen,a war crime and a flagrant violation of international laws that protect the prisoners .
The Council affirmed that the torture of Al-Jaridi untill death , one of three captives who had agreed to be released in Omman consultations, was a deliberate crime without regard to the rules, customs and ethics of the Islamic religion, international humanitarian law and national and international norms.
The statement stated that the protection of prisoners and detainees is at the heart of the ICRC’s work in accordance with its obligations under international humanitarian law.
SCMCHA also called on UN to assume responsibility for the captives as well as working to stop the crimes and violations of the aggression’s countries that have affected the Yemeni people in general and the captives held in the prisons of the countries of aggression in particular.
