Secretary General of SCMCHA meets with heads of civil society organizations.
The Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, met today with a number of heads of civil society organizations working in the field of relief and issues of the displaced.
Tawoos stressed the importance of coordinating with civil society organizations associated to humanitarian and relief issues as well as studying their conditions a, proposing their development and improving their performance.
He pointed to the role of civil society organizations through their responsible work that prevails the national interest, achieves the objectives of humanitarian work and serves its tracks properly, pointing out that the Council facilitates the work of civil society organizations in the field.
In turn, the representatives of the organizations pointed out the need to coordinate and work under the supervision of the Supreme Council and abide by the rules of work in accordance with the mechanisms and standards set by the Council as it concerned with coordination and follow-up the work of organizations in general, including local organizations.
They stressed that civil society organizations will work in coordination with government efforts to implement humanitarian and relief activities and projects to alleviate the suffering of citizens and displaced persons.
The meeting stressed the importance of activating the role of civil society organizations’ activity during the current stage in the humanitarian and relief aspects.
