Tawoos meets the Country Director of Save the Childern Organization.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdul Mohsen Tawoos today discussed with the Country Director of Save the Children Organization Xavier Joubert, the coordination mechanism between the Council and the organization in all areas.
The meeting touched on the areas of work of the organization and the projects that has implemented.
Tawoos stressed the importance of reducing the organization’s operational expenses as well as allocating funds to the needs of the Yemeni people. He said the reduction of funding for organizations operating in Yemen was a pressure paper with political objectives.
He pointed out that the US administration is behind the reduction of funding, confirming the importance of finding solutions to keep pace with the humanitarian situation and seek funding from donors and partners other than the U.S. administration.
The meeting was attended by the head of the International Cooperation Department of the Council, Mana’a Al-Asal, and assistant head of the department Ali Al-Kahlani.
