The first consultative meeting to discuss the needs of civil defense in Yemen.

The first consultative meeting of international organizations was held today in Sana’a to discuss the needs of civil defense in the Republic of Yemen.

During the meeting organized by the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation with the Civil Defence Department, the civil defence needs and the difficulties facing the work of the Department were reviewed due to the lack of resources.

At the opening, The Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdul Mohsen Tawoos indicated to the importance of hard working to provide the requirements of civil defense to be able to play its humanitarian role in saving people in case that disasters of all kind happened.

He pointed to the difficult circumstances in which civil defense personnel work in the light of the aggression and siege,indicating that the meeting should come up with recommendations that can be translated urgently into work to support their needs of tools and equipment for rescue operations.

For his part, the director of the office of the head of the Civil Defense Department, Colonel Abdullah al-Hamli, expressed his hope that the meeting will lead to positive results that contribute to the provision of the needs of civil defense, praising the great interaction of the participants with what was put forward in this meeting.

In turn, the participants confirmed the importance of the role of civil defense in saving people during accidents, and taking care to raise the outcome of the meeting and the need plan to discuss it with their management to discuss what can be provided in this context.

The meeting reviewed a film on accidents and disasters that led to heavy material and human losses that could have been significantly reduced if the main needs and requirements that help in the rescue operation and provide rapid assistance are met.

The consultative meeting was attended by the heads of the Department of International Cooperation and the single- window of the Council, Hamza al-Mukhtar, and the GeneralDirectorof projects and planning at the Civil Defense Department, Lt. Col. Mohammed Al-Najri.
