Tawoos discusses ways to provide solar energy to rural areas.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Abdul Mohsen Tawoos met today with the director of the emergency project for rural and urban electricity at the UN Office of UNBS Ziad Al-Jabri.
The meeting discussed aspects related to the provision of solar energy to rural and semi-urban areas, which contributes to the implementation of agricultural activities and the development of mechanisms of action through alternative energy means.
In the meeting, Tawoos confirmed the importance of taking care of rural and semi-urban areas to promote the agricultural and service sector. The provision of alternative energy is one of the first steps to support and strengthen resilience , work and promote other areas in those areas.
The director of the emergency project for electric power at the United Nations Office pointed out the office’s keenness to implement such projects, thereby alleviating the suffering of the community, confirmeding the importance of coordination to meet the challenges and moving forward to achieve common objectives.
