Tawoos meets with WFP Deputy Resident Representative.
The Secretary-General of SCMCHA , Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, met today with the Deputy Resident Representative of WFP, Ali Reza.
During the meeting, they discussed the progress of the activities of the Food Programme in Yemen and emphasized the frameworks for coordination and cooperation between WFP and SCMCHA in order to achieve the common goal of alleviating human suffering in Yemen.
The meeting, which was in the presence of the Head of single Window Department Hamza al-Mukhtar and Head of the Planning Department, Mutahar Zeid, discussed the humanitarian role that WFP should play to alleviate the suffering of people through full coordination with the Supreme Council, which contributes to facilitating humanitarian works and implementing its common objectives.
He confirmed the importance of completing what had been agreed during the previous period and to resume work in areas where the problems were addressed, so that beneficiaries in those areas would not be harmed.
Tawoos said the establishment of the council was part of facilitating humanitarian work and facilitating the organization’s work with an organized mechanism and fruitful coordination to provide real needs in accordance with the priorities of need and to alleviate human suffering in Yemen.
He pointed out the need to pay attention to the coordination process and to report first to the Council to contribute effectively to facilitating the course of humanitarian work and the access of aid to those who deserve it.
For his part, Reda confirmed the program’s keenness to continue its humanitarian work and carry out its duties in this field, as well as to work in accordance with a mechanism concerned with the field of coordination and joint cooperation to ensure the facilitation of humanitarian tasks and overcome any problems that may arise in order to serve the common objectives of reducing existing human suffering.
