Discussion of UNICEF’s Teacher Incentive Project

A meeting in Sana’a today, which included the head of International Cooperation deparat at SCMCHA Mana’a al-Asal, Undersecretary of Education Ministry Ibrahim Sharaf, and UNICEF Deputy Representative Bastian Viño, discussed unicef’s cash incentive project for teachers.

At the meeting, The Head of the International Cooperation Department Al-Asal stressed that the incentives of teachers will contribute to alleviating the suffering of teachers, who represent a broad segment of society.

He confirmed that UNICEF’s work should be humane and impartial, free from pressure of donor countries.

The undersecretary of Education Ministry considered that providing incentives to teachers is not enough in regard to their role in the continuation of education over the past years.

The meeting was attended by Director of International Organizations Turki Jamil, Director of Projects Imad Hajar, and Head of The Coordination Department of the Ministry of Education Walid al-Hashimi.
