A meeting to discuss the initiative of localization humanitarian work in Yemen.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, met today with the head of Tamdeen Youth Foundation, the coordinator of the Humanitarian Localization Initiative, Hussein Al-Suhaili.
During the meeting, they discussed the initiative to resettle humanitarian work in Yemen that was launched by the Tamdeen Youth Foundation with many local civil society organizations, and its impact on the improvement of the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
The meeting touch on the development of a new mechanism to improve the humanitarian response in order to enhance the humanitarian work, and to harmonize the humanitarian response with recovery and economic recovery.
The Secretary-General of SCMCHA affirmed his support for the role of national civil society organizations, appreciating the role played by local organizations to alleviate the suffering of people through their humanitarian interventions in various sectors.
It was agreed to come up with a strategic plan to localize humanitarian work and improve the humanitarian response mechanism, agreed upon by civil society, the government and the private sector.
