Tawoos meets the Deputy Regional Director of OCHA in Hodeidah
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Mohsen Tawoos, discussed with the Deputy Regional Director for the Middle East at OCHA, Tariq Talahme, joint cooperation to develop humanitarian work.
During the meeting, which was attended by the First Undersecretary of the Hodeidah Governorate,Ahmed Al Bishri, and the Director of SCMCHA branch in the governorate, Jaber Al-Razhi, Tawoos affirmed the SCMCHA keenness to cooperate and facilitate the work and activities of organizations working in Yemen to facilitate the arrival of humanitarian needs to alleviate the suffering of citizens from the humanitarian catastrophe that the country is going through as a result of the aggression and siege.
Tawoos confirmed that the organizations must respect the laws of the countries that are binding on them under the conventions.
He pointed out that the customs and traditions in Yemen are completely different from other countries, and everyone must respect them.
Tawoos indicated that the governorate is in dire need of emergency intervention and humanitarian relief for those affected, to alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe, which has reached dangerous levels, explaining that reducing humanitarian aid and not disbursing it on a monthly basis has exacerbated the human suffering.
In turn, the first representative of the governorate appreciated the efforts of SCMCHA, stressing that the United Nations did not perform its humanitarian role in light of the suffocating siege such as cutting off water for more than three years.
In turn, Talahmeh appreciated the cooperation and great facilities provided by SCMCHA to organizations working to carry out their humanitarian role.
