Al-Hamli meets the representative of FAO in Yemen.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation Ibrahim Al-Hamli met today with the representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Dr. Hussein Jadin.
The meeting discussed the humanitarian and development aspects, the problems of agricultural work and coordination mechanisms to ensure the provision of aid to support the agricultural sector.
Al Hamli, in the presence of the assistant representative of the FAO, Dr. Muhammad Salam, stressed the importance of coordination between the SCMCHA and the FAO to overcome work problems and develop appropriate solutions to implement projects that meet the actual needs of the agricultural sector, in a manner that serves the farms and sources of food security as well as contributes to providing sources of income for agricultural families to alleviate human suffering as a result of aggression and siege.
He pointed out the importance of directing projects to serve the beneficiaries, especially the provision of solar-powered pumping systems and modern irrigation networks, rehabilitation and restoration of dams before the rainy season, as well as the provision of agricultural equipment and mechanisms to advance the agricultural and development aspect.
The Secretary-General of SCMCHA confirmed the importance of submitting reports on a timely basis, explaining that successful work is based on system and coordination that would raise the level of work and achieve positive results that meet the actual needs in the field of work and the reality of the beneficiaries.
For his part, the FAO representative expressed readiness to implement priority agricultural projects that serve agricultural development in Yemen in coordination with SCMCHA.
He appreciated the efforts of SCMCHA in overcoming the difficulties faced by humanitarian organizations operating in Yemen.
The meeting was attended by the Director of International Organizations department of SCMCHA, Turki Jamil.
