Al-Hamli and a delegation of UN,international and local organizations are inspecting the needs of a number of facilities in Saada.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, the Director of the OCHA office, Sajjad Muhammad Sajid, and a number of representatives and officials of international and local organizations inspected today the needs of the health and service sectors in Saada Governorate.

Al Hamli, during the visit along with the Undersecretary of Saada Governorate for Humanitarian Affairs – SCMCHA Branch, Al-Hamli were briefed on the needs of the sports stadium, Saada University, the central prison and the Republican Hospital Authority in the governorate.

They heard from officials of the civil sectors an explanation of the extent of damage to government facilities and the priorities of urgent needs to meet the minimum requirements of these facilities, enabling them to continue carrying out their tasks and work in providing services to citizens.

The Secretary-General of SCMCHA stressed the keenness to carry out tasks and actions in the field, by helping the community and touching its needs, as well as implementing sustainable projects that meet the needs of the citizen.

He pointed out that the visit to Saada governorate aims to konw the extent of the damage, and to find out the actual need from the reality, so that SCMCHA and humanitarian action partners can implement sustainable projects that contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens and meeting their needs.

Al-Hamli pointed out the importance of the interventions of UN, international and local organizations in Al-Jamhouri Hospital, by rehabilitating the hospital and providing the necessary capabilities, equipment and medicines so that the hospital can provide the necessary health services to patients.

During the visit to the Central Correctional Facility in Saada, the Secretary-General of SCMCHA confirmed the importance of improving the conditions of the reformatory, in a way that contributes to improving the conditions of the inmates.

He affirmed the importance of implementing emergency interventions for the inmates of the reformatory, by providing winter baskets that include blankets and special mattresses, during the harsh winter season.

In turn,the Director of OCHA in Yemen, Sajid, expressed his happiness at visiting a number of vital facilities in Saada Governorate, to know the humanitarian conditions there.

He appreciated the efforts of SCMCHA for the facilities that provided to organizations to implement humanitarian work.

The visit was accompanied by the directors of planning and projects, Jamal Barih, Monitoring and Evaluation, Muhammad Al-Razzaa, local organizations, Abdul Salam Al-Nawab, and a number of local authority officials.
