Discuss aspects of cooperation between SCMCHA and MSF.
The Assistant Secretary-General of SCMCHA , Mohamed Fares, met today with the head of MSF office , Christos Christo.
During the meeting, ways to enhance cooperation between SCMCHA and MSF were discussed in an optimal manner by contributing to alleviate human suffering according to the priorities of needs.
The Assistant Secretary-General welcomed the head of the international office of the organization and his accompanying delegation on their visit to Yemen, pointing out that the visit will allow them to know the worst human suffering in the world caused by the aggression and siege on the Yemeni people eight years ago in various aspects of life.
He emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination between the SCMCHA and MSF in implementing sustainable projects and effective interventions that contribute to alleviate human suffering.
He touched on the humanitarian needs in various sectors, foremost of which is the health sector, which is one of the sectors most affected by the aggression and the blockade, which negatively affected the status of health and treatment facilities and health personnel.
Fares appreciated the efforts and contributions of MSF in the health sector in Yemen.
For his part, Christo indicated that the aim of the visit is to know the great tragedy experienced by the Yemeni people and to provide support requirements from donor countries, pointing to aspects of cooperation between the organization and SCMCHA
The meeting was attended by the director of international organizations department, Turki Jameel, the director of the projects department, Jamal Brayeh, director of the operations department , Ahmed Al-Suwaidi, the humanitarian representative of MSF in the Middle East and North Africa, Antoine Blair, and a number of heads of MSF missions operating in Yemen.
