The Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs holds the aggression coalition responsible for the stampede
The Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation expressed profound sorrow over the deadly stampede tragedy in Sana’a
In a statement issued today, the Council affirmed that what happened was the result of the Yemeni people’s humanitarian crisis, which is the worst in the world, caused by the aggression and blockade, as well as the use of the humanitarian card as a pressure card to starve the Yemenis, in addition to moving the central bank to Aden and not paying the salaries of state employees, each of which was the cause of the stampede of the needy, blaming the aggression coalition for dozens of victims in this painful incident
SCMCHA stated that it operates in accordance with the highest humanitarian standards and with specific, regular mechanisms that have assisted in bringing aid to those who deserve it over the past few years, while also making sure that they are not subjected to any psychological or physical harm, and without recording any tragic incidents, like the one that happened last night, in which dozens of ordinary people were killed.
The Supreme Political Council formed an investigation committee to determine the causes and effects of this tragic incident, and the statement from SCMCHA emphasized the significance of this action as well as the need to put procedures and measures in place to ensure that it does not occur again in the future.
