Al-Hamli meets with the Regional Director of ICRC.
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, met today with the Regional Director of ICRC for the Middle East and North Africa, Fabrizio Carbone, and his accompanying delegation, who is currently visiting Yemen.
In the meeting, Al-Hamli welcomed the Regional Director of ICRC Committee of his accompanying delegation on their visit to Sana’a.
He emphasized the importance of the visit to know the worst human suffering in the world that the Yemeni people have been experiencing for nearly nine years as a result of the aggression and siege, as well as America’s use of starvation as a weapon to exacerbate and multiply the Yemenis’ human suffering.
He stated his desire to redouble efforts and expand initiatives and activities in accordance with needs and in a way that contributes to the alleviation of human suffering in Yemen.
The Secretary-General of SCMCHA appreciated ICRC’s work, particularly in health, food, and mine clearing.
For his part, the Regional Director of the International Committee of the Red Cross appreciated the cooperation of SCMCHA and the facilitation of the committee’s work, stressing that ICRC will continue to provide possible support to Yemen and contribute to alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.
The meeting was attended by the director of International Organizations department at SCMCHA, Turki Jameel, and the Director of bilateral cooperation department, Hafez Al-Shawki, and the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation to Yemen, Daphne Marit.
