Al-Hamli lays the foundation stone for a project to build and equip a special unit for children and their mothers in the central correctional facility in Hodeidah
The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, laid today the foundation stone for a project to build and equip a special unit for inmate children and their mothers in the Central Correctional Facility in Hodeidah Governorate, at a cost of $249,835, with funding from Save the Childern Organization.
Al-Hamli explained that laying the foundation stone for the project to build and equip a special unit for children and their mothers who are inmates in the Central Correctional Facility in Hodeidah, comes within the framework of SCMCHA’s keenness and interest in implementing service projects for the Correctional Facility.
He emphasized the significance and uniqueness of Hodeidah Governorate in terms of humanitarian interventions and support, due to the tremendous damage caused as a result of the aggression and siege that resulted in the world’s worst humanitarian crisis and the displacement of millions.
Al-Hamli highlighted the importance of completing the project as soon as possible in accordance with the agreed-upon specifications, as well as the implementation of additional activities included in the project that contribute to the alleviation of inmates and their children’s suffering.
For his part, the Director General of Rehabilitation and Reform at the Prison Service, Brigadier General Adel Al-Badri, appreciated SCMCHA’s interest in the Central Correctional Facility and the work to follow up and implement a project to build and equip a special unit for children and their mothers in the Central Correctional Facility in Hodeidah.
The laying of the foundation stone was attended by the Director of SCMCHA in Hodeidah, Jaber Al-Razhi, the Director-General of Monitoring and Evaluation, Muhammad Al-Razza, and local organizations, Abdul Salam Al-Nawab, the Director of the Central Correctional Institution in the Governorate, Zaid Al-Kahlani, and the Deputy Director of the Office of Save the Childern Organization in Hodeidah, Ramzi Salah.
